About CrackMyWord

CrackMyWord is a free online word guessing game inspired by the classic five-letter daily-puzzle format. Every day, players around the world get the same 5-letter word to crack in six tries.

What makes it different

• No sign-up. Just open the page and play. Your progress is saved in a small cookie on your own device.
• No paywalls. The daily puzzle and unlimited practice mode are both free forever.
• No data collection. We don't ask for your email, name, or any personal details.
• Mobile-friendly. Plays nicely on phones, tablets, and laptops.
• Deterministic daily word. The word is picked from the date itself, so everyone in the world gets the same word on the same day — no central database, no account required to keep the streak going across devices.

How it's built

CrackMyWord is a small, fast web app built with Next.js and deployed on Vercel. The word list is bundled directly with the site, the daily puzzle is selected deterministically from the date using a tiny built-in hash, and the game state lives in a single cookie on your own device. There is no server-side account, no login, and no analytics database about you.

Why we built it

Word games are a great little brain warm-up. We wanted a version that's quick to load, works the moment you arrive, doesn't pester you to sign up, and doesn't ask for any of your information. If you enjoy it, we hope you come back tomorrow and the day after that.

The team

CrackMyWord is built and maintained by a small independent team. We're not a publisher, we're not funded by a venture round, and we don't have shareholders asking us to optimize for engagement. The site is supported by unobtrusive advertising (Google AdSense) on a small number of pages, and that's it.
